DU TABLE

A dining table commissioned for a client who wanted a tough surface as the table top.

Our fascination for terrazzo called for a really sturdy frame. In the frame we continued our work with round steel tubing with routed half overlap brazed joints. The added angled tubes give more strength to the frame but also demands a higher precision in the craftsmanship.

Materials: table top: black terrazzo with small amounts of red and white stones, frame: steel tubing.
Measurements: H 72 * W 200 * D 102 cm

Color: Schwartzblau

ENTRY

Entry is a project we did as a part of the themed exhibition GRAN (Pine) hosted by the HOLDBAR Design Group, that consists
of designers, architects and artist focusing on innovation and sustainability in design concepts and production.

In our process we looked at various sorts of pine and their inherent qualities both regarding texture and appearances.

As a result we set to create a furniture piece, as composition, that would exhibit the different sorts and their contrastive characters.
Entry was formed out of three types of pine, Oregon, Douglas and Scots pine.
We liked it’s usage to be versatile, so Entry can be seen, as storage furniture, for sitting, climbing and as a display shelf.

Materials: Oregon (frame), Douglas (sides), Scots pine (partitions), Copper
Measurements: H 58 * W 78 * D 86 cm

ICI

"Assemble me, stack me, love me. This petite minimalist storage solution is a symmetrical box that can be taken apart without the use of tools, consisting of six components that are assembled with clips. ICI is a narrowed-down item in the border zone between furniture and accessory. The finish is luxurious, with rounded interior corners like a jewellery box, and feels smooth as skin in all its humble attention to detail. Hard not to assemble, stack and love."

From the 'Petit' exhibition catalog / Charlotte Jul & Dorte H. Silver

Materials: Brown-cored ash, brass.
Measurements: H 26 * W 34 * L 58 cm

ICI is exhibited at Snedkernes Efterårsudstilling / The Cabinetmakers Autumn Exhibition: Petit, a themed, annual-, jury selected exhibition.
The exhibition was opened at Øregaard Museum in Hellerup, Denmark. September 2015.
And will go on to be exhibited at Maison du Danemark in Paris, January 2016.

ICI is produced in cooperation with cabinetmaker Toke Overgaard.

BOX

This storage box in wood and metal can be disassembled and assembled by hand.

The box is a play with scale where raw, architectural elements meet fine woodwork -focusing on textural and material qualities.

In form, we wanted to emphasise the contrast between the interior and exterior, well as the transitions between different components.

On the outside the box has many offsets and details while the inner part is rounded out in all corners and edges.

The different parts of the box are only held together with metal dowels and four brackets in black-galvanised steel.

Measurements: L 71, W 28, H 22 cm.

Material: Kalmar pine, steel.

FURNITURE ROOM

Our intention was to frame a new room inside a room - a place for one or two persons to occupy.
We wanted to create a tactile piece of a furniture that hopefully would give the user a sense of
privacy and tranquility.

Furniture Room was crafted at the The Danish Art Workshops. Here is a short article on the process, from your residency (in Danish).

Measures: 110 cm width, 190 cm length, 260 cm height.

Materials: Kalmar-pine.

This project was part of “Re-Form”; a biannual, jury selected, exhibition platform for young and upcoming designers.

Re-Form was founded by designers Rasmus B.Fex and Maria Bruun.

Sensored by FramaEtage Projects and Elle Decoration.

The Re-Form exhibition was opened at Frama's showroom in Copenhagen, June 2014.
Subsequently exhibited at the Danish Design Centre (DDC) in Copenhagen, July 2014.

And at Four Boxes gallery at Krabbesholm, Skive, May 2015.

Produced at The Danish Art Workshops.

TABLE

Frame made of ash with a massive desktop of Swedish Kalmar-pine.

Since the massive pine in the desktop seasonally expands and contracts much. The frame is designed to accomondate this movement, where it’s open at one end so the top can move freely over the edge.

In the desktop, we have made a recess outline of a soft round edge which marks the work surface. The top and frame are handmade and assembled by hidden tenon joints.

Dimensions: L 120, W 76, H 76 cm.
