Danish local is a monolithic bench made for the exhibition 'Side By Side' held at Design Museum Denmark.
A bench can be used by everyone. It's a place to visit over and over again,
to reflect and dream.
You come alone, with a friend or maybe meet someone new .
You observe, talk and remember.
But the bench remains the same place. You do not move it - it's a point of reference and gradual familiarity.
Our bench is made of "Danish underground", a very common ground material found in Denmark. Often used as a concrete cast mix, (used for any concrete floor). Blended with white concrete and water and then sanded into a form of Danish terrazzo.
12 slabs are held together by a solid brass profiles that rest on two sockets.
